Iced HOJA with honey and lime
· HOJA
Bright, lightly sweet and ready in ten minutes. HOJA's naturally smooth, gentle sweetness means it needs very little help, so this iced version keeps things simple: a strong brew, a little honey, a squeeze of lime and plenty of ice.
Serves 2
You'll need
- 3 HOJA tea bags
- 300ml just-boiled water
- 1 to 2 tsp honey (or maple syrup)
- 1 lime
- A large handful of ice
- 200ml cold water
- Fresh mint, to serve (optional)
Method
- Steep the 3 tea bags in 300ml of just-boiled water for 5 to 6 minutes. Using an extra bag gives you a stronger brew that stands up to the ice.
- Remove the bags and stir in the honey while the tea is still warm so it dissolves.
- Squeeze in the juice of half the lime and top up with 200ml of cold water.
- Fill two glasses with ice, pour over the tea and finish with a slice of lime and a sprig of mint.
Make it your own
- Sparkling: swap the cold water for sparkling water just before serving.
- Batch it: scale up, keep it in a jug in the fridge and enjoy it within 2 days.
- Ginger kick: add a few slices of fresh ginger while the tea steeps.
